Field Trip Transportation
Your children’s grade 5 class teacher likes to take the children on field trips to museums or parks. Sometimes the teacher takes the children on public buses. Some parents are unhappy. They say the school should always use school buses even though it is more expensive. You have been asked to respond to an opinion survey.
Choose the option that you prefer. Why do you prefer your choice? Explain the reasons for your choice. Write about 150-200 words.
- Option A: Public Transit: I think it’s okay for children to travel on public transit.
- Option B: School Buses: I would prefer children only travel on school buses.
My opinion is the children should not be use the public transportation.
I agree with the field trip and the museums, parks plans because the children need to learn something new things out of the school.
I hope the parents will be choose the school buses option, because our kids have to be safety.
The public transportation not really safety for the classes or groups.
Every kid is different, for example my son many time loose him staff, so if they use the public buses we cannot found. If we will use the school bus all the kids staff can leave it on the bus, and after the trip every parents can helping out packing the kids staff, and nothing loose. Secondly the children are interested for everything, and I worry about. My kid start talking with other people from the public bus...I think, my son not really know who is the bad or good person.
Hopefully the parents understand this and we will choose the school buses options
It has come to my notice that some parents whom their kids attend schools where public transportation has been used in conveying their kids for field trips to different parks and museums across the city have echoed their displeasure on such practices.
In my own opinion, i strongly support the use of school buses for such trips as it puts the safety of those kids in the hands of the school authorities. Looking at the issue from my own point of view, assuming an accident occurs during one of such road trips, the school management will blame the driver of the public transit or the company that provided the bus for neglect, without taking any of the blame.
By using the school bus in lifting those kids, the safety and the drivers skill will never be questioned. It will be the duty for the schools management in ensuring that their drivers are well trained to handle any situation that might cause road accident during any road trip. This will also save money for the school by using their own transportation. At the long run, the school will benefit from such policy.
I personally think that it is alright for children to travel on the public transit, since there are always teachers who accompany them for field trips. They will hence be monitored at all times. I think that an education system is not there only for the academic development of a child. An education system is meant to be a complete education package that helps in getting a child ready to step in the world after the school years are done. I believe that when taking the children out for a field trip by taking the public transit, the teachers also get a chance to teach them what to be careful about, for example, they will be taught not to accept gifts from strangers, or not to follow a stranger. These are important life lessons that a child should be taught.
Unfortunately, I think that if the children always travel on school buses, they will be over-protected. In the long run, it only makes life harder for themselves when it's time for them to step in the real world, after school days.
